HISTORY OF THE 13th/18th ROYAL HUSSARS (Queen Mary’s Own) 1922-1947

Price range: £35.00 through £45.00

The 13th/18th Royal Hussars were one of Britain’s most battle-tested armoured reconnaissance regiments of the Second World War. Formed in 1922 from the 13th and 18th Hussars, the regiment fought from the desperate withdrawal to Dunkirk in 1940 to the spearhead of the Allied advance in 1944–45. Landing on D-Day in Sherman DD amphibious tanks and swimming ashore at Sword Beach, it drove through Normandy, seized the heights of Mont Pinçon, and pushed across the Rhine into Germany.
