Major-General Robert Craufurd served in Spain under Sir John Moore, and subsequently commanded the Light Division under Wellington, being mortally wounded in the storming of the Fortress of Ciudad Roderigo. The book comes complete with a fine portrait of Craufurd and facsimiles of letters praising him from Moore and Wellington.
