The 5th Battalion, The Wiltshire Regiment (Duke of Edinburgh’s), a Territorial Army unit of the 43rd (Wessex) Division, served with distinction in North-West Europe from June 1944. Landing in Normandy on D+17, it fought in some of the campaign’s hardest battles, including Hill 112, Maltot, and the capture of Mont Pinçon. The battalion later advanced across the Seine, fought along the Market Garden corridor near Nijmegen, and helped drive through the Rhineland to Bremen. Its wartime record included 603 killed and 74 gallantry awards. A Roll of Honour KIA & DOW completes this history.
