There are chapters on day and night-time bombing, on anti-aircraft defences and on seaplanes, but the attention of most English-speaking readers will surely focus upon Part II, Chapter Five, which is devoted to the air war over the western front. Befittting an official history, throughout there is more emphasis on the air force as a whole than on the exploits of individual air aces. Illustrated with 36 black and white photographs.
