Description
The author of this unofficial manual, of the type that was popular throughout the Great War, Lieutenant Colonel Arthur Percival Dearman Birchall Royal Fusiliers, was killed in action in the attack on the Pilkem Ridge,near Ypres, 23 April 1915. He was commanding 4th Central Ontario Regiment at the time of the attack.
Birchall has a long and fine biography in “DE RUVIGNY’S ROLL OF HONOUR” that actualy mentions this manual .
