LEEDS PALS A History of the (Service) Battalion (1st Leeds) The Prince of Wales’ Own (West Yorkshire Regiment)1914-1918

An excellent piece of work. The strength of the book originates from the availability of first hand accounts from surviving members of the “Leeds Pals”. It is a tale of great tragedy, for though the Leeds Pals took part in the final advance to victory, their three years in France had cost them 733 men killed, 1,861 wounded and 776 missing or captured.
