This is an extremely important book that traces the history of British Cruisers, from the failed designs of the 1930s, through to the up-armouring that was necessary to provide adequate offensive and defensive measures to fight through the unsuccessful Norwegian Campaign, through to the retreat from Greece and the Eastern Mediterranean, victory at Taranto, the siege of Tobruk, and finally the lead up to Pearl Harbour and the loss of the Indian Ocean to the IJN at the end of 1941
