BB KONGO CLASS AND CV UNRYU CLASS
Well illustrated with B&W photographs, drawings and illustrations this is a record of the transition of the superstructures of BB Kongo Class with an introduction to the CV Unryu class.
The Kongo-class battle cruiser was a class of four battle cruisers built for the Imperial Japanese Navy immediately before World War I. Designed by British naval architect George Thurston, the lead ship of the class, Kongō, was the last Japanese capital ship constructed outside Japan, by Vickers.
The Unryu class aircraft carriers were World War II Japanese aircraft carriers. 16 carriers were planned under the Maru Kyū Programme and the Kai-Maru 5 Programme, however, only 3 were completed.
