With the advance of Windows operating systems and the
move away from 32-bit system architecture to 64-bit as
standard, it has become necessary to re-engineer and
upgrade our CD-Roms to ensure compatibility with all new
computers. Most new computers are shipped in 64-bit
format and will not operate old versions of Soldiers Died
in the Great War or Army Roll of Honour 1939-45.
We will be withdrawing both technical support and the
issuing of new release codes for both these CD-Roms as
of 31/12/2011 when our office and our off-site developers
change all in-house systems to 64-bit.
Even if you haven’t made the jump
to 64-bit yet, (the new versions of these CD-Roms are fully
back compatible with 32-bit operating systems from
Windows 7, 8, 10 and Vista).
We do not require you, as in the past, to return
your old discs to us if you are a verified registered
keeper, and ask when you receive your new version
of the CD-Rom to dispose of your redundant discs
responsibly. (Old discs may not be resold.)
