MAJOR AND MRS HOLT’S BATTLE MAP OF GALLIPOLI

Guide map to the Gallipoli campaign in 1915 with all features and points of interest marked, including sites of naval wrecks

This is a very fine map of the Gallipoli peninsula showing on one side the peninsula and the Dardanelles, scale 1:73,000, roads, contours with, on the other side, detailed maps of Anzac, Suvla and Helles. Like the other battleground maps this is in four colours, displays battle lines, shows war cemeteries including French and Turkish, Forts, Guns and emplacements, memorials, museums, locations associated with personalities, VCs and the sites of wrecks e.g. HMS Triumph, HMS Goliath. All the beaches are clearly marked and the progress of the landing forces. All sites are numbered and there is a key with each map. This map, too, is companion to the Battlefield Guide book and I was very happy to have both when I paid my first visit to Gallipoli in May 2000, a wonderful experience and one I unreservedly recommend.
