Ghuznee 1839

The storming of and fighting around the fortress of Ghuznee 21st to 23rd July 1839. The British force had entered Afghanistan to reinstate Shah Soojah-ool-Mook, considered to be pro-British, who had been dethroned and exiled by the Persians. During the advance on Kabul, the Bombay Column stormed Ghuznee, and this effectively ended the resistance to Shah Sojah.
