FRANK LESLIE’S ILLUSTRATED FAMOUS LEADERS OF THE CIVIL WAR
OUR PRICE:
£75.95
This oversized facsimile edition of Frank Leslie's nineteenth century Civil War history is richly illustrated with 740 period engravings. The subjects illustrated include portraits of political and military leaders, famous forts, pivotal battles and naval engagements, military encampments, and major events arranged chronologically to follow the course of the war. These images were created by a corps of war artists employed by Frank Leslie for his illustrated newspapers. Years later these prints from 1861 to 1865 were recovered and assembled in this volume. Along with the fascinating illustrations and concise history is a range of official data taken from the nation's war records, including the numbers for troops who entered the Union army by state, the war's principle battles, their generals, and numbers killed and wounded. Indexes to Civil War history and this book's illustrations are included. This book is a historical treasure for all who are fascinated with the Civil War.
