Another in the series on WW I VCs. Although the bulk of the awards featured in this book came in the Arras Offensive (9th April - 15th May 1917) and Messines (7th - 14th June 1917), it actually covers all VCs awarded between January and July 1917, to the eve of Third Ypres Offensive which opened on 31st July. Over the seven months a total of 50 VCs were awarded and their stories and biographical details of those who won them are narrated here, with portraits of each and other b/w photos. Among the actions covered in this account is the capture of Vimy Ridge by the Canadian Corps in April, the most impressive victory of the BEF in the war thus far.
