The title refers to the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour on 7 December 1941 which President Roosevelt to as “a date which will live in infamy.” In preparing this account the author interviewed nearly six hundred participants in this tragic and treacherous attack which destroyed the pride of the US navy and brought America into the war.
