This is a follow-up to the author’s remarkable reference work British Battalions on the Somme , and another excellent piece of research. There were many fewer battalions at Gallipoli than on the Somme, and this has enabled the author to give much more detail about each battalion - dates embarkation with name of ship, nominal rolls, deaths of officers, moves in and out of the front line and records of battles and engagements. In compiling this book Mr Westlake has made use of some thousand volumes of war diaries, regimental histories and personal memoirs.
