German-born Delmer created some fifty fake German radio stations which poured a stream of honest news as well as pornography, disinformation, rumours, and scurrilous stories about Nazi leaders into the Reich and occupied Europe. The black propaganda outfit PWE (Poltiical Warfare Executive) also dropped millions of demoralising leaflets aimed at encouraging desertion and sabotage among German forces.
